Q: How is payment accepted?
A: Either cash, cheque or e-transfer.
Q: Would my counselling sessions be covered by work?
A: Possibly; this will depend on your Employee Assistance Program (EAP). To find this out, contact your Human Resources department at your work place. Note: EAP services require special approval. Therefore, not all therapists with Taking Care Counselling Ltd will be covered by your EAP services.
Q: How soon can I see a counsellor?
A: Usually your first appointments can be booked within 7 to 10 days.
Q: What if I cannot make it to my scheduled appointment?
A: You may cancel your appointment 48 hours prior to your scheduled time. However, there will be a fee of $75.00 if you cancel less than 48 hours before your scheduled appointment time.
Q: How long is the appointment?
A: Each session is 50 minutes. However, your counsellor may recommend longer sessions. In this case, your fee will be adjusted accordingly.
Q: How is personal information handled in my session?
A: All information in your counselling session is confidential. The following are exceptions to rules of confidentiality are:

Situations involving child abuse or any persons’ physical safety

Information subpoenaed by a court of law

Reporting requirements with Employee Assistance Programs (EAP)
These confidential guidelines will be reviewed with you at your first counselling session.
